First Veterans Affairs Healthcare System Standardizes Use of Acarix CADScor System

Acarix, a leader in acoustic and AI-based cardiac diagnostics, today announces a significant advancement in the utilization of its CADScor System within the Veterans Administration (VA) Healthcare network, the largest healthcare provider in the US. The Southeast Louisiana VA Healthcare System has now approved and adopted the CADScor System into its Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) for risk-stratification of symptomatic patients suspected of coronary artery disease (CAD). Furthermore, an additional VA hospital – Biloxi VA Medical Center (VA Gulf Coast Veterans Healthcare System) has placed an initial order for the CADScor System and its single use patches.

The Southeast Louisiana VA healthcare system was the first VA location to place orders for CADScor System and patches in February. Approval of the CADScor System into their SOP signifies an important step in securing the routine use and adoption of the CADScor System as standard of care for symptomatic patients suspected of coronary artery disease.

In June, Acarix expanded its presence in the Southeast region with the additional order of CADScor System at the Biloxi Medical Center in the VA Gulf Coast Veterans Healthcare System, one of the leading healthcare systems serving Veterans in the Southcentral Region, covering medical centers and clinics in Mississippi, Louisiana, Arkansas, Oklahoma, Southeast Texas, and Northwest Florida.

"Over the past few months, we have collaborated closely with the Acarix team and are in the process of implementing the 11 CADScor Systems across multiple sites within the Southeast Louisiana Veterans Health Care System," stated Dr. Anand M. Irimpen, Chief, Cardiology Section. “Our teams are in the process of integrating the CADScor System into their workflow in line with the clinical workflow developed by Acarix in collaboration with the American College of Cardiology. This allows us to increase utilizing CADScor System as a first-line diagnostic aid to stratify risk for all patients who come into our facilities experiencing stable chest pain."

"Securing the inclusion of the CADScor System into the Southcentral VA Healthcare Network SOP constitutes another major milestone for Acarix as we grow our business at the VA, and in the US,” commented Helen Ljungdahl Round, President & CEO of Acarix. “Equitable access to high-quality care for all veterans is a major tenet of the VA healthcare mission. Incorporating the CADScor System routinely into the diagnostic workflow for symptomatic patients will help physicians meet their goals by ruling out significant coronary artery disease early in the diagnostic pathway and allowing attention on patients needing care.”
